Legitimizing
​Graphology

At one time, Graphology was erroneously lumped in with the occult books in the Dewey Decimal system.  Handwriting Analysis was lumped in with Taro Cards, Fortune Telling, and Phrenology.  Since Graphology is a serious study of Handwriting and not a oujia gimmick, we needed to have that error rectified!​
In 1980, the United States Library of Congress corrected this, and reclassified Graphology into three distinct areas:
  • 155.282    Diagnostic Graphology  (Individual Psychology)
  • 363.2565  Documentary Evidence
  • 658.3112  Selection of Personnel Management

​Our own lovely member, Rose Matousek, valiantly wrote to the Decimal Classification Division of the Library of Congress with evidence of the legitimacy of Graphology.  Her poignant letters and persistence paid off.  Below, for the record, is some of that correspondence.
